Brandy Hill Farm is a farm wedding venue located in Culpeper, Virginia, targeting couples looking to get married in rustic, farm, outdoor settings.  As a new business, but with a huge potential due to its proximity to the DC-metro region, Brandy Hill Farm needed help with building awareness, driving traffic to their website and generating leads.

Challenges

As a new business launched in late 2014, Brandy Hill Farm needed help in getting the word out about its beautiful location for wedding ceremonies and receptions.  They also have a barn that has been renovated and is an ideal venue for couples looking to get married in rustic, farm settings.  Also, according to an industry report, more and more couples are driving further out of crowded cities to get married in country farms.  This was a perfect opportunity for Brandy Hill Farm as it is located within 50 miles from Washington DC and within one hour distance from Northern Virginia.  They needed a marketing strategy to target millennials that are tech-savvy and spend a lot of online for finding wedding vendors.

Solution

The solution was local SEO strategy followed with technical implementation.  After conducting a thorough research on how engaged couples are finding rustic farm wedding venues online, we came up with a set of targeted keywords.  The keywords were variations of “barn wedding venue in Northern Virginia.”  Then, the website content was re-written based on the keywords, and the site was restructured and optimized to deliver the best SEO results.  We also hired a wedding blogger to write blogs around rustic weddings and reached out to leading industry blogs to create links back to the farm’s website.

Results

Today, the Brandy Hill Farm website has become a lead generation machine that consistently produces on average 15 to 20 leads every week.  Brandy Hill Farm gets most of its traffic, leads, and customers from Google.  They have reached their target numbers – number of weddings booked – for both 2015 and 2016.  Site visitors are highly engaged – average session duration is over 2 minutes, bounce rate is below 45%, and on average 4 pages are viewed per each session.

From keyword marketing perspective, over 11 targeted keywords are ranked in top 5 on Google – 16 keywords in top 10.
